Hey! Thanks for joining me.

My name is Lucy and welcome to my blog!

I'm a CrossFit trainer, aspiring CrossFit athlete, and MSc graduate in Sport psychology.

I graduated from Loughborough University in 2017 with a First Class Honours in Sport and Exercise Science, and continued to study for my Masters degree, graduating in 2019. Before starting my MSc, I qualified as a personal trainer, and took a job at a local commercial gym which marked the start of my coaching experience.

As cliched as it is, sport has always been a huge part of my identity. It's all I've ever been consistently interested in. I was sporty as a child, that typical 'on every school team' type; my sporting journey has graduated through gymnastics to swimming to hockey and now to CrossFit. The commonality across these sports has been my desire to succeed in them. I have always wanted to be good at whatever I do: "If a job is worth doing, it's worth doing well".

Train and Thought encompasses everything that this blog will be; posts ranging from my interest in psychology, to all things training and physiology. Or at least that is the current plan! I've recently discovered that, for me, writing is a therapeutic process and allows me to make sense of things. It might be that I invite you with me on a brain fart of some recent thoughts, or try to educate and bridge the gap between science and the general public.

No matter the topic, I'd love to hear your thoughts and suggestions. Help me out on this new endeavour - let me know your feedback. I can't wait to start!

Lucy xoxo
